Esperance isn’t quite your average weekend ride, but can be done comfortably in 4 days, leaving from Bunbury/Australind.

If your leaving from Perth you’ll go out through Hyden, good place to stay and check out Wave Rock. The down to Lake King and onto Ravensthorpe, then in to Esperance.

We would normally ride from Australind to Darkan, Arthur River, Wagin, Lake Grace, Lake King down to Ravensthorpe and into Esperance (663 k’s) T...

Good ride down to Karridale Pub for Lunch.  Great Pub with good meals and really, you’re in the heart of the Margaret River Wine region so plenty of other stops.   Leaving Australind had towards Busselton turning off just shy of Busselton onto Sues Road.  Nice riding road and then turn off onto Mowen Road, Rosa Brook Road and eventually back onto Bussell Highway.  This ride will bypass Busselton and Margaret River so a good ri...

Bunbury to Margaret River - Nannup return

Following on from the previous post this combined two rides and takes in Mowen Road.    Number one place to visit from Bunbury is Margaret River.  See my blog on Best of the West for further details.

I recommend the more scenic ride down through Dunsbourgh via Caves Road into Margaret River. I would recommend spending some time in this area so perhaps an overnighter would...

If you’re in the Southwest and looking for a good ride, through some nice forest with some good curves check this ride out.

Leaving Bunbury head South towards Busselton.

Turn off on Ludlow-Hithergreen Rd Road towards Nannup (Vasse Highway 104), now the road opens into two lanes farmland and quite riding.  Watch for Kangaroos… Nannup is renowned for the Nannup Annual Music Festival, other than that a quite country town, wi...

Many ways to go to Albany from Bunbury we like the ride out through the farmlands. The roads are all good, although be mindful of Kangaroos.  The ride can be ridden either way.

Leave Bunbury and head up to Collie (Goldfields Highway State Route 107) Due to a lot of accidents along this route, the road is speed restricted to 100 k’s.   Collie is a nice town with a good fuel station, MacDonald’s, Pubs and shops in the main street...

The aim of this ride is to enjoy the ride, an overnight stay at Karri Valley Resort and return the next day to Bunbury.  Other accommodation options along the way is at Bridgetown or Pemberton.

Leave from Bunbury, head South on National Route 1 to Donnybrook, best known for its Fruit & Vege.

The road is sealed and good open riding as you pass through the small town of Balingup take time to stop in and check out the...

The ride is out to one of my favourite wee pubs, on the back roads, Quindanning Inn.  They serve a great lunch, and is a good round ride for the day.

Leaving Australind head out to the Coalfields Highway State Hwy 107.  This takes you through the mining town of Collie.  Out the other side of Collie you’ll turn left onto the Collie-Williams Road.  Good long straights and lovely countryside riding.   Eventually you wi...
