All Mapped and ready to go.  First part of the adventure is our trip to Canada and the USA.

(Please note the Blogs are in date order from the day we left in July 2016)

We pick up our Harley Davidson in Edmonton, Alberta and looking forward to catching up with good friends Gina & Bob.

The trip will take us across to Jasper and down the Ice Field Parkway – one of my favourite rides to the beautiful town of Banff.  We’ll leave...

Final Flight....  Waiting to board final flight to Perth from Sydney.  Breaking up the flight yesterday with a stopover in Sydney worked well.  We again stayed at the Stamford Plaza Inn and was again excellent.  They have a shuttle from the airport although you do pay $6.50 pp each way, but the convenience was great.  They also allowed us to check in at 9.30am as we were on the early flight in from USA. There is a outside pool...

Here we are....  LA International Airport waiting waiting waiting....  We were allowed to stay at the Holiday Inn for a late check out of 2.00 and then Uber to the airport - so easy - and now the wait without plane 1/2 hour behind our departure time already...

For such a busy airport there aren't many shops or restaurants etc.  Still we found a nice quite Steakhouse up stairs in departures, so had a very slow dinner...

So after 10917 K's it has come to an end...... Bike dropped off to Schumacher Logistics for shipping to NZ and we here in our hotel at Holiday Inn Hermosa Beach.  Typical Holiday Inn although not quite as nice as some of the others we have been in.

Riding into LA wasn't as bad as I had thought, still a mission with all the exits and Highways and the traffic flow very fast, although the further we got in the better as the...

Great day out with D & G after seeing Red Rock Canyon decided to be adventurous and we headed up to Zion National Park and Bryce Canyon.  Taking Interstate 15 out of Vegas plenty of traffic and challenges until we got further out to enjoy the more slower pace of the Zion National Park.  .

Zion and the tunnel were great and then onto Bryce Canyon.  We headed down into the canyon, even after doing it with Laurie the oth...

We out to Red Rock Canyon for a drive with D & G.  Located not far out of Vegas so an easy drive. You enter the Park and follow the scenic drive through a loop road.  We turned into this funny little western town, Bonnie Springs Ranch a frontier-inspired town and a replica of an 1880s mining town. Had a great restaurant, so had a good morning Brunch.  Gerry did some rock climbing and we had a good cruise in the Mustang.  Now w...

Great days in Vegas, has been warm but the Hotel Pool has been helping out there.  We are staying at Worldmark Wymdam with Diana & Gerry, these are apartments so not fully serviced but they are great for staying in when here for a week.  Full kitchen, laundry etc.  Located out of the strip but they do run a free shuttle to the Strip.  Located very close to Silverton Casino and the Bass Pro Shop so a good morning spent in the B...

Final ride out of the wilderness.  Heading for Vegas on Interstate 15, good ride down, warm and the roads weren't too crazy.  We detoured on the way in to do "The Valley of the Fire". It is a state park in the Lake Mead Recreational Area.  Ride through then at the visitors centre turn off and up into the Valley which takes you deeper in.  Was a different landscape, and understand how America makes films like "The Martian" thou...

Wow the morning was definitely a bucket list moment, walked to the bottom of Bryce Canyon, got up early (as you have to catch these moments) and walked in, WOW  what an amazing canyon to be down in.  The top of the canyon is crazy beautiful to view but getting down there is crazier.  So glad that we did it and then having to leave this are, still so unexplored we headed for Springdale and Zion Canyon.  The ride across back tra...

Traded in the Harley for a four wheeler  .... NOT...  Rode from Page to Bryce today and did actually forget there is a 1 hour time difference, but arrived into Bryce with time to spare.  We booked with Bryce Canyon Adventure Tours for a 4 wheel motorbike tour and when we got there we were the only ones on the tour...  Yeah....  Lyndon was out guide and we headed out just South of Red Canyon to unload and start our ride.  Amaze...

After our early morning start at Horseshoe Bend we headed out to Lake Powell for our 2 canyon Cruise to Antelope Canyon and Navajo Canyon from the Whaweap Marina.  Have to pay again as it is a National Park so again my Pass paying off here.   Definitely worth pre booking the tour with Lake Powell Resorts and Marinas as it was very busy.  Our cruise started at 9.00 and full with 66 passengers on board.   On the cruise we see Gl...

Cruisy  Day today.  We started off getting up again at 4.45 for the sunrise... But a tad early....  The Horse Shoe Bend is only 1 mile from Page and from the carpark a 15 minute walk to the edge of Horse shoe Bend.  And I mean EDGE  there is no rails to stand behind and people just walk out find a ledge and take their photos.  OMG there was some crazy people on that ledge just really pushing the limits just for a photo.  The o...

Today we tackled both Upper and Lower Antelope Canyons.  Both Canyons are just outside of Page but it is advisable to book in advance, this place is crazy with tourists and they certainly shift alot of people through those narrow canyons.  We booked the Upper Antelope Canyon with Chief Tsosie Antelope Slot Canyon Tours for 10.30 start.  The tour company are in the main part of Page and you arrive and are taken out to the Canyo...

After a beautiful morning sunset we headed back out to the Park to take Highway 64 onto Desert View Drive on the south rim and follow the canyon out and then turn onto highway 89 to continue onto Page Arizona. Our National Park pass coming in handy here. Although like all the really tourist spots best to be up and in their early to avoid the crowds.  Our early monring entrance was a breeze but coming in at 10.00  different sto...
